Here are some city buildings that Ive been building for a computer games intro. Its a pretty quick turnaround so I put these together in a half day or so. There is a mixture of detailed and background buildings with varied degrees of detail. If you look closely at the glass building its got a dinky office with desks, computers and liftshafts in it!

Here is an update on the Rusty Tub model. The core modeling is complete, I just have to add a few details (like the teddy) and prepare for the fun of texture mapping. THe textures on it right now are just to highlight the sections for clarity.

I'm modelling the Rusty Tub from 'Lifeboat Luke' the TV show I was working on. Its about halfway done now that ive modelled the main hull and cabin. Ill model all the fiddley parts during this week. Its all polys with some blocking out done in curves.
The design is of course copyright of LTL/Straandlooper.

I had an interview last week where they asked if I could animate a Remote Control Handset or do some moving text. So here it is. I did it in a scrambled afternoon and lunchbreak so its not Fantasia but i think its ok!

Heres a train that Ive been working on. I got my Maya 7 installed two weeks ago so have got started on my new showreel. I could'nt think of a theme so Im just redoing all of my rubbish noob models from my student film in full quady glory.

Im off to Belfast again in a week. Which should be all the fun of the fair. More Showreel updates soon.

My showreelathon was just getting kicked off when I was rudely interupted by people trying to give me jobs ( who do they think they are!). However I managed to start my 1960's style star trek phaser. I will make a cg shatner to go with it very soon, so stay tuned.

In the meantime Im off to London to work as a wee classroom assistant at escape for a week which no doubt will be a ton of fun!

Back to the Millstone

Alas my escape experience is now over. Although i had the really wierd experience of helping out as a classroom assistant and saw how the other half lived for a few days.

Im back in Scotland now working in the worlds drearyest pub, for a few weeks at least, in order to fund my next trip back to London as well as the month off from making any money so i can can have a "hardcore showreelathon" tm. so i have a snazzy super maya showreel to send out in September.

In the meantime check out this rather suspicios 'comedy' image in 'sleazy english tabloid' THE SUN and compare it to my half arsed photoshop image I made for followfollow.com last January. Note the phrasing in the caption.

Who would have thunk it, My first published (or should i say stolen) peice of art is my totally shan photoshop effort.

Week three, Character modeling.

This week i have made a simple man character ,gave him a skeleton, bound his skin on and painted weights. So you can imagine how fun that was.

We are all to create a character for ourselves and do the same then animate it doing somthing. So here is Scout; the rescue dog (AGAIN) in all his digital glory. His head isnt all smooth like that normally but im to tired to put up the poly versions.

Well thats me for the week. London has decided to close till tuesday, so i have to wander about aimlessly like a homeless buddy. So really no change from being in Scotland

MAYA

Maya maya maya maya maya maya maya may ama ya aaa ma yyaaa

last few weeks have been nothing but maya. Im doing a course down in London to learn this 3d package. Its great fun (well as fun as sitting in learning a programme could be) and my brain is filling up with 3d whizzimagigs. I have nearly expelled everything i didnt learn at Duncan of Jordanstone.
There is also a tremendously cool pub downstairs (its also tremendously expensive!) where all the staff and students have a jolly good time. Its ful of 'creatives' so its fun to go and be pretentios for a while! There was a little social thing on friday and im pleased to say that i was sharing a drink with Lara Lewington (the channel five weathergirl). Thus ends my brush with fame!!!

Heres some stills from the first week. Week two and three have all been theory based so ive only got films of pixaresque lamps jumping up boxes to show for that (cant work out how to upload them on these comps yet)

Well well well. I have decided at last to start a blog.

Blogs are wierd and strange things, why in the world would anybody wish to fill the internet up with a big load of inane waffle about who they are and what they do so that other idiots could pop along and waste their time reading it ? At least with a diary you dont expose the world to how much of a wierdo you really are, although you have to be famous and die before a diary becomes much use.

However, it seems to be what all the kids are doing these days. Its better to join the rush or some other crazy internet fad will pop up leaving me twice behind the times.

So here begins the document of the life of Sandy McCracken, its sure to be a mindnumbingly dull thome full of gramatical and spelling errors, laced with innacuraces and lies. ENJOY
